Just something I wrote in class ;)

The cadence sounded around me as we marched. Left, right, left. Left, right, left. The stands were coming closer. I could see people watching our every move. Left, right, left. Left, right, left. We were there, the whistle shrieking around us. Slowly, we went up the bleachers and stood for a minute, just looking about. I sat, just as he took the seat next to me. We sat in silence for a while and watched the game with little interest, listening to the noise of the cheerleaders, the football players, the chattering of students. I could see someone imitating the cheerleaders’ routine. Suddenly, he elbowed me; I elbowed him back. He laughed; I tried not to smile. No success. He launched into one of his ridiculous family stories, making me throw my head back and laugh. Why I was listening so intently, I have no idea. But he was an upperclassman, too good for me.
